An unusual and complicated design to engineer, as it featured solid walnut circular ‘pipes’ at the front, top and bottom of the arms, and the top and bottom of the sectioned back. The back was covered in fabric draped over the walnut rails. The sofa floated as if airborne on a set-back plinth and the seats were made separately before being fixed onto supporting frame. Extraordinary but successful.
