This deep buttoned gold damask sofa was one of eight identical sofas that Dudgeon made to go along the walls of The Promenade at The Dorchester. It was much higher than a normal sofa, and also had a shallow seat depth so that it was user friendly for taking tea and cakes in this award winning central area of the hotel. The sofas have been recovered several times in the same fabric as they are used for many hours every day. The sofas are made using full traditional construction.
